Our Philosophy
At Aurora, we believe ALL students will flourish when innovative and creative lessons are rooted in evidence-based practices. That's why reading concepts are taught explicitly and in a systematic manner. And our math lessons include hands-on activities designed specifically to assist a student’s reasoning and thinking skills. Our work empowers students with a can do attitude which leads to success in the classroom. This confidence helps shape the leaders they will become.
Our Team
The Aurora Team consists of veteran teachers who collectively have over 40 years of teaching experience. Each teacher has extensive training in reading & math instruction, and have taught elementary school aged students in Northern Virginia for many years. Our teachers are trained in Orton-Gillingham, Leveled Literacy Intervention (LLI), and Bridges Math Intervention.
